A LITTLE ABOUT US

Our hands.
Your daily bread.

Hearth & Crumb started with a jar of starter, a home oven, and more bread than one family could eat. So we shared it. With friends, with neighbours, and eventually, with you.

We’re still a small family operation. We believe in good flour, slow fermentation, and the kind of food that brings people around a table. Nothing fancy. Just bread, made properly.

GOOD TO KNOW

A few good
questions.

About your loaf, your pickup,
and keeping the good stuff good.

How does Saturday pickup work?

Preorder by Thursday at 8pm for a fresh Saturday bake. Pickup runs from 9am to noon in Mount Pleasant, Vancouver. Once ordering is connected, your confirmation will include the exact pickup address. Bring your name and a reusable bag.

When should I place my preorder?

Any time before Thursday at 8pm, Vancouver time. Our small batches take 48 hours to ferment, so we plan the bake in advance. After the cutoff, the menu rolls over to the following Saturday.

What’s in your bread? Any allergens?

The Country Loaf is made with wheat flour, water, and salt. The Seedy One also contains sesame, sunflower, and pumpkin seeds. Our focaccia includes olive oil, rosemary, and sea salt. All loaves contain wheat and gluten, and share a kitchen that handles sesame and other allergens. We can’t guarantee an allergen-free loaf.

How do I keep my loaf fresh?

Keep it cut-side down on a board for the first day, then in a bread bag at room temperature. For later, slice and freeze in an airtight bag. Toast straight from frozen whenever a good slice calls.

Can I change or cancel my order?

While you’re planning, you can change quantities or empty your bag at any time. This standalone site saves a preorder preview on your device; it doesn’t send an order or take payment. For a live order, changes would need to reach us before the Thursday cutoff.
